For 18 months, United Initiators was looking for a Senior Sales Manager in Houston, TX. Just 2 days after they posted the position on Reflik, the perfect candidate for the role was found. He started with them in early June.
Viveka is the successful recruiter who found this candidate. He has been recruiting for the last eight years. Until about three years ago, when he decided to strike out on his own with a couple of his friends, Viveka had been recruiting for a large, multinational IT recruitment and staffing services agency.
We spoke with Viveka about his recruitment methodology, what he thinks about Reflik, and most importantly how he was able to fill such a hard-to-fill position so quickly.
Here are the three things Viveka did to accomplish this feat, steps every successful recruiter takes to get quick-fire success on the Reflik platform.
#1 Don’t be afraid to work on jobs other recruiters might not want to work on
Viveka chooses jobs with lower competition – jobs other recruiters are afraid to work on.
By submitting a few, high-quality resumes to fill job openings that other recruiters are scared to work on, Viveka enjoys a clearer candidate pipeline, quick feedback, and rapid closes.
#2 Attend Webinars
The first thing Viveka does, after getting a job order, is figure out what exactly the client is looking for in a potential candidate.
“I try to be on every webinar,” Viveka told us. Reflik Webinars help, he explained, “make your search practical.” He told us that job descriptions are too theoretical. The information relayed in webinars from hiring managers – where recruiters are actually encouraged to ask questions – answer some serious real-world questions.
What Viveka made clear to us is that webinars are imperative for success on the Reflik platform. Many members of Reflik’s recruiting community, however, have not been able to attend webinars because the timing did not work out. They were too busy when the live webinars were being held.

#3 Submit only the best candidates
Viveka puts quality over quantity. “Dumping [resumes] on clients has never worked for me,” he told us.
This attitude allows Viveka to gather quicker feedback, while being smart with his time. By committing to submitting candidates selectively, Viveka is efficient with his time – spending the time and effort of contacting candidates, writing executive summaries, and so on only when he knows they stand a chance.
